2022 is bringing about lots of changes for The Breeders Halter Futurity.

***We have added stallions to our Amateur Division.   2022 Weanling Foals by the following stallions will be eligible for the BHF Amateur Classes:

***We will be offering our DIY Classes again at our event.   We have made a few changes to the rules for the DIY Classes.

Exhibitor Eligibility:

  1. Exhibitor must be an Amateur or Youth holding a current Amateur or Youth membership in the respective breed association and you must meet relationship requirements to be eligible to show.
  2. Exhibitor must be personally responsible for the care and preparation of their horse. A trainer cannot be involved in any way with this horse for 90 days prior to the BHF.
  3. Exhibitor cannot have placed 1st in any BHF Weanling or Yearling Class.
  4. Winning Exhibitor of each DIY Class is not eligible to show in either DIY Class the following year.

  1. DIY Classes are now available to current BHF Open and BHF Color Division Stallions who pay a fee to make their foals eligible to participate in the DIY Classes. The $2000 fee will make all their 2022 weanling foals eligible.   This fee is due by July 1st.

We will also have separate stalling areas in both barns for our DIY Exhibitors.

***We will offer the Longe Line Class again this year.  This year we will offer a Ranch on the Rail and Ranch Conformation Class.  Belt Buckles will be presented to the winners of both of these classes sponsored by Suzonne Franks.   Jerry and Penny Robinson have graciously donated $5000 to both the Longe Line and the Ranch on the Rail Classes.

***OBE Belt Buckles will now be presented to the winning OBE in every Amateur and Open Weanling Halter Class that has been previously offered.   OBE will now have a $250 entry fee ($500 entry fee after the 1st entry deadline) which will be jackpotted.    BHF will provide $2000 added money to each OBE Class.

The industry’s elite Halter horses and handlers gathered this past weekend in Des Moines, Iowa for the premier Breeders Halter Futurity and National Halter Championship, which awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars, beautiful bronze trophies, golden globes, and even the year’s use of two horse trailers to a few lucky competitors.
